STAGE I - TRADE WEEK

The Trade Week - from 27th,  28th,  29th,  31st  March  &  3rd April 2023 - is Stage I of the contest. It is a zonal stage where contestants will compete in their respective zones, viz., North, East, West, and South.

The objective for the contestants is to book the highest profit at the end of the Trade Week.
Contestants will be allotted virtual money of Rs. 20 lakhs on NSMART. Contestants can trade on equity and equity derivatives, based on the rules and criteria.

12 Contestants from Student Category

(3 from each of the four zones) will qualify for the Grand Finale

based on the profit booked, number of trades, number of trading hours, adherence to the contest rules, and other criteria.

STAGE II - GRAND FINALE

The Grand Finale is a national-level live online event on 18th April 2023 where 12 finalists will compete for the title of 'NSE Academy SMART Trader 2023' and the prize money of Rs. 1 lakh.

The finalists shall present the rationale behind each trade executed. The Jury will evaluate the finalists not just based on the profits booked, but also on the stock/future/option selection criteria, strategies adopted, innovation, and sustainability of strategies, among various other factors.

The best trader identified by the Jury will be declared as

About TRADE-A-THON

TRADE-A-THON is a national live stock trading contest brought to you by NSE Academy, a wholly-owned subsidiary of the National Stock Exchange of India Ltd. This contest aims to promote sound investing and trading practices among students from higher education and budding professional traders through a learning experience and participating in the Trade-A-Thon event.

Students can learn basic trading techniques through hands-on experience by competing with other contestants from across India. The learning journey and the contest are curated on our simulated trading platform - NSMART. Students compete for the title of ‘NSE Academy SMART Trader 2023’ and win Prize Money of Rs. 1 lakh.
